Technical Description
The model is used to investigate the oscillation of pendulums. During this process a physical pendulum is compared with a mathematical pendulum. The unit includes a metal bar with additional sliding weights as a rigid pendulum. The suspension point can be adjusted at the knife edge bearing of the pendulum. The length of the thread pendulum included can be easily varied using a clamping device.
The components of the experiment are attached to a base plate intended for wall mounting. The model is suitable for student experiments.
Learning Objectives / Experiments
- Period of thread and rod pendulums
- Determination of the centre of gravity on a rod pendulum
