ET 264

FEATURES:
- Open circuit for use of geothermal energy

DESCRIPTION

Technical Description

Geothermal energy refers to the use of thermal energy stored beneath the earth's surface. Technical systems for the use of shallow geothermal energy are divided into open and closed systems and into collectors and probes.

The ET 264 trainer is an open circuit with production and absorption wells. The pumped heated water flows through a heat exchanger, emits its heat to the thermal load and then flows back into the sand bed. There the water is heated back up again using three controlled heaters. From the sand bed, the heated water is pumped back into the heat exchanger.

The temperatures and flow rates are recorded. Then the amount of heat dissipated is determined and referenced to the sand bed temperature.

The well-structured instructional material sets out the fundamentals in detail and provides a step-by-step guide through the experiments.
